Lucy-Liu

Lucy Liu was born in the US. Lucy Liu, a native of America is an American actress, a singer and voice-over artist. A beautiful, smart and skilled actress, she is an example to Asian actors aspiring to be big stars in Hollywood. After a series of initial performances in popular shows her fame was boosted by joining the crew of the cult comedy show Ally McBeal where she played the sly Ling Woo. The new fame she gained was translated into roles that were filmed on the large screen in Shanghai Noon, Charlie's Angels and other films. She delivered a stunning performance in the role of Japanese O-Ren, a gangster from Japan (Quentin Tarantino) in Kill Bill Volume 1 by Quentin Tarantino. In the same time frame she also acted as the lead in some failures at the box office including Rise: Blood Hunter. In later years, she worked as a voice actress for animated movies, such as Kung Fu Panda. Small screen roles such as Mia Mason in Cashmere Mafia did not yield positive results. The role she played in the critically acclaimed police drama series Southland helped re-establish herself as an actress of note. Liu carefully selects roles to prevent being stereotyped in a field where competition is fierce. She has acknowledged her Chinese heritage, but she doesn't allow it to hinder her creative abilities.
